Beijing to Baoding

NERICK Points: Join Date: Feb 20, 2010 Status: offline	I will be flying into Beijing and going to Baoding. Is there a good way to get to Baoding from Beijing with lots of luggage? Are taxis available to Baoding and if so, are they expensive and are they safe for an american person? Do not know Chinese language...

ELLYSE Points: Join Date: Oct 30, 2005 Status: Offline	Baoding is a long way off, in Hebei province! It's not in Beijing itself. If you can splurge, it might be possible to arrange for an airport transfer. Taxis might not want to go so far, especially on last-minute notice.

NERICK Points: Join Date: Feb 20, 2010 Status: Offline	Thank you for your information! Driving directions to Baoding, Hebei, China 159 km – about 2 hours 15 mins from Beijing. Baoding does not have a civil airport. Anyone here that can help me?

Yes, I'm aware that there're no Beijing -- Baoding flights, I'm not stupid...
Get someone to pre-buy a D train ticket (1st-class if you want more space) for Beijing West -- Baoding which would take about 2 hours for the journey. And also arrange for an airport transfer from Beijing airport to Beijing West train station.

ELLYSE Points: Join Date: Oct 30, 2005 Status: Offline	Sorry, what I meant to say was that the D train would take 1 hour to get to Baoding, and the airport transfer would take about 1 hour from Beijing airport to Beijing West train station. Thus a total of 2 hours. You could also get an airport transfer all the way to Baoding, but that would cost a lot more.
