Beijing in 1 Day

PRINCY00 Points: Join Date: Apr 11, 2010 Status: offline	My husband and I will be flying into Beijing and arriving at PEK (Beijing Int'l Airport) at 10:30am this May 30th. We want to avoid the city all together and visit the Great Wall directly, and stay in a hotel/hostel/bed and breakfast near the Great Wall. The entire purpose of our 1 day trip through Beijing is to see the Great Wall and its beauty. (I will be there a week earlier in Beijing city for several days). Our flight leaving Beijing is the next morning. 1) Should we visit Badaling, or can we go directly from the airport to Simatai? 2) Are there hotels in Simatai that provide airport transport? Are there hotels there at all? 3) Has anyone made a 24 hour trip to the Great Wall and where did they stay overnight?

ELLYSE Points: Join Date: Oct 30, 2005 Status: Offline	1) Definitely Simatai over Badaling. 2) I know of at least a hostel there. 3) Google "Great Wall overnight" or similar keywords. It's not something that everyone does, but it's also an option that has been done by quite a few people.
