Hi,

I've eaten in some chinese restaurants "Chicken with yellow bean sauce", it's a red sweet sticky sauce, with a strong flavour, but I cannot find it ready made, and I cannot find a recipe either!!

Anyone can tell me how to prepare it..??

Thanks!

Should be able to buy it in any Chinese store in the west or any supermarket in China.
I must admit it is really tasty and one of my favourites. Big prawns, carrot and luobo fried in yellow bean sauce

GUEST05218 Hi, thanks for your reply.

I live in London, I've checked some chinese shops but the closest I can find is "crushed yellow bean sauce". I've tried it but it's nothing like the red sauce I have in the restaurant...

It is sometimes simply called Bean Sauce. Mee Chun makes a nice one. It is more brown than yellow. Sometimes you see jars of yellow fermented beans.

Cant find in London? have you checked the shops in chinatown?
Bear in mind that what we buy in shops is different anyway, maybe the restaurant chef makes his/her own.

I am a bit further south than you and we have 2 Chinese shops, both sell the type I like
