| Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I am British and have a fiancée currently in China and from China. I graduate from university this summer and plan to go to China for a gap year next year to teach English and to be with her. Once I have been there for a year I planned to come back to the UK and get a proper job as an engineer but I would wanted her to come back with me. Would we be better off getting married in China when I am there and then applying for a visa before I come back or should we wait until I come back to England and apply for the fiancée visa and do it that way. We don't want to have to be apart any more. There is also the added complication that after a year of us meeting she was refused a visa renewal for the UK and had to return to china. This was for working to many hours and was about a year ago. Thanks any help or advice will be appreciated |

| The process of marriage for foreigners is usually easier in China. However, you need to be prepared to have all the necessary documents available which are obtained in the UK. Marriage itself does not automatically entile your fiancee to move to the UK. You need to apply for her to come as your wife and obtain settlement. To do this you need to convince UK immigration that you have the financial means to take care of her without recourse to public funds. (income and accommodation). A previous visa refusal will not help her case. This [tcgurl=http://nanninginfosite.editboard.com/ |
