Hi,

I was wondering if anybody knew anything about trying to get a graduate job as an electronic engineer in China. I graduate from Bristol Uni this summer and wanted to go to China to be with my Fiancée. I can't speak any Mandarin yet but plan to learn as soon as I have finished.

Wondering if anyone has done this or has any advice

Thanks

Foreigners can only work in China if they have "special skills" unless they are employed by a foreign company. Special means skills not available by Chinese workers. As you can imagine China is not short of electronics engineers. About the only jobs available to foreigners are language teaching by native speakers. If you have a degree (any) finding a teaching job should not be difficult. Better jobs require teaching experience and perhaps a TEFL certificate or equivalent. They usually include accommodation and return flight.
