It would seem that alot of the hassle teachers first experience is when the school gets them a temporary visa (ie - L) and takes their sweet time getting the Z visa. My question is, should I make sure that I have the proper Z visa before even going? It would seem that many go on an L and take their chances; personally, I'd rather not allow the school to have me by the nads after I get there, know what I mean?
Related but off topic: anyone know the names of any government run schools in or around Beihai? By near I mean like Qinzhou, not Nanning.

It is possible for you to get Z-visa before you going to China.
While you should provide many of your documents to your employer to prepare Employment or Expert License and Invitation letter.
After that, your employer post the Employmet or Expert License and Invitation letter to you, and you can apply for Z-visa with them.
Good luck!
Best regards,
Maggie

Alert. Never go to China unless you get a Z visa first. I also want to warn you about Maggie. She's here for the money. There is a website that warns agains recruiters and people like her that scan the internet offering help.
