Tons of paperwork, I am just applying for visa for my wife at the moment.

You need to provide proof you can support her for at least 2 years as she will have no recourse to public funds.

You will need employment proof, contract , payslips and P60
Bank statements, itemised for 6 months.
proof of savings.
Utility bills,
housing report,
proof of contact between you for the relationship.
plus loads more.
