how to get to Yichang

guest42725 I have a conference to attend in Yichang in June.When I enquired there are no direct flights from India and the connection flight within China are pretty expensive.I would like to know whether I can take a train to Yichang from any of the major airports( for which I could fly in from India at a reasonable rate), so as to reduce the cost of travel and also not spend too much time travelling.

Have a look at domestic flights from your port of entry into Wuhan which is the nearest large city to Yichang.

It's about a four hour bus ride from Wuhan to Yichang, the most convenient alternative to flying. However there is not likely to be any bus directly from the Wuhan airport to Yichang. You will most likely have to transfer by airport shuttle to down town and then to a Long distance bus station.

Definitely possible to get to Yichang by train from Shanghai.
