I'll go to Beijing next week. I am planning to visit Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Beihai Park etc. Anyone can tell how can I go to Beihai Park from Tiananmen Square?

Walk northwest from the north gate of Forbidden City. So route your itinerary as Tiananmen Square - Forbidden City - Beihai Park.

Really? If Beijinghai Park is not far away from the north Gate of the Forbidden City, I would walk there. By the way, the north Gate of the Forbidden City is Shenwu Gate? If I walk, how much time will I take?

GUEST19143 If you tour the Forbidden City, you will exit at the North Gate. Cross the street, walk west, and you'll be at the entrance to Beihai. Make sure you go up the stairs to the top of the 'round' Its a fascinating piece of history that most people miss. Very peaceful and a beautiful view of the moat around forbidden city. Walk through Beihai and exit at the north gate and you'll be at Hou Hai.

It would be a good idea to read Peking by Juliet Bredon and Twilight in the Forbidden City before your trip - These books were written in the 1930's but have been republished and are available on Amazon.
