| The rain storm from June 7 to 8 hit the Fenghuang (Phoenix) Ancient Town in Hunan Province. Due to the water level rise of the Tuo River, the Jumping Rock (a famous tourist spot) and some streets had been overwhelmed by the flood. According to Hunan Provincial Hydrographic Office, the rainfall in the Fenghuang Ancient Town reached 130 millimeters. So far, six people had died and more than 100,000 were moved to safe places. In total, around 1 million people have been affected by the rain storm. More than 1,500 houses had collapsed and around 5,000 houses were damaged seriously. |
