Dear people,

I'll be visiting China for the very first time. I'm very excited about this and looking forward to the 'culture shock'

Besides visiting Shanghai, I also need to see a supplier in Yunhe.

I can take the train D5689 from Shanghai South to Longyou. This will take me 03.11 of travelling. I leave at 07.44. I am happy with that, because my girlfriend is coming along to, and long trainrides are not here favortie cup of thea. I also do not wish to take inland flights.

When I take the train from Shanghai to Longyou, I am then 150 km's away from Yunhe. Supplier wishes to pick me up from Lishui only.
But not Yunhe as he thinks that is too far away.
I don't want to push my supplier in this, but I do wish to go from Longyou to Lishui. A train to Lishui from Shanghai is not feasible as I do not wish to arrive at 03.49 in the morning in Lishui, nore do I want to sit in the train for more than 16 hours. It's only 3 hours to Longyou and a 150 km drive to Lishui from Longyou. This seems the best option.

But how would I get from Longyou to Yunhe? Are there busses going from Longyou to Yunhe?

Thanks!
Roger

There is no direct bus from longyou to Yunhe, and it seems very inconvenient to travel between the two places.

In short, you need to go to Yunhe from Shanghai and you don’t want to spend too long on train. Am I right?

If so and if I were you, I would travel by long-distance bus from shanghai to Lishui( about 5 hours) and let the supplier to pick me up. Or I could go to Yunhe directly by bus.

Supplier offered to pick us up from Lishui. A friend in Shanghai will arrange the bustickets.

I hope the busride will not be too much of a culture shock.

Silly question, do you suppose I can safely tuck away our bagage inside the bus?

Well, small change in plans, our chinese friend is not able to arrange the bustickets because of his wedding.

How and where can I arrange bustickets in Shanghai for a long-distance bustravel to Lishui?

How long does it take for the bus to arrive at Lishui?
My supplier will pick us up in Lishui, but I do not know when I will arrive.

Maybe nice to post a follow-up.

The trip to Yunhe we took by bus. We boarded at Shanghai Long-distance busstation and we stopped at Lishui. The drive took around 6 to 7 hours. From there we had our contact pick us up for the one-hour drive by car to Yunhe. Three days later we took a different bus with beds (I'm too big for those beds :) ) straight to Shanghai. That busride took around 8 hours.

I had a blast of a time in Yunhe and I love the delicious Chinese food.
In Shanghai we watched football with all the Dutch people (and some Chinese) and we enjoyed our stay in China and we have meet only friendly Chinese people.

Thank you for your help!
