Recommended Books about Beijing

guest19143 I highly recommend reading Peking by Juliet Bredon, and also Twilight in the Forbidden City by Reginald Fleming Johnston These books were written in the 1930's and give a real appreciation for Beijing and its history!

They are available at amazon and were great to read before going to China!

Any other recommended books?
