| The Yellow River has been plagued by an increasing amount of mud and sand. Each year, the river bed rises as silt deposits build up, slowing the water flow in the lower reaches. The sand-washing operation was conducted to clear out the silt deposits at the dam, according to chinadaily.com.cn Thus, sand-washing operation has been a spectacular sight of Xiaolangdi Multipurpose Dam Project. Meanwhile, one can buy some huge fish that lives in the deep river at a low price during this time. This year it began from 06/19 and will last about 20 days. Best time to visit Xiaolangdi. Water gushes out from the Xiaolangdi Reservoir during a sand-washing operation |
