Ok,if you dont want read whole thing just skip to the bottom.

I miss my families and friends so much, so this year I finally get a chance to go back, but then.....my mom lost my old chinese passport(which is required for visa application first time ) and U.S citizen paper(which is required to replace chinese passport).
thats the infomation i got when i was at NYC chinese consulate. (i took 16 hour bus in a day for nothing, the consulate told me one thing on the phone, and told me another story when I got there.i was so pissed )
Then I found a travel agent in china town to help, the guy told me that it will take a month to remake the chinese passport, i dont know if this guy is telling the turth or just want make some money from a teen like me.

And my flight departure is on july second, after being left with no choices, I recalled that you dont need a visa to go to hongkong for 90 days, so I did some reserch, if i am not wrong, i dont need that freaking chinese passport nor u.s citizen paper, right?and a travel visa works better right?i am not sure how i should rearrange my flights, right now I am heading to hongkong then straight to guangzhou, when i come back, i go from guangzhou to hongkong then back to U.S, do I need to change the flights, or just dont take the flight to guangzhou when i get to hongkong, after i get my visa, i can take a train or a plane to guangzhou, right?

I am not sure exactly what you are asking, I only speak English not street American.

If you are on a US passport you can certainly enter HK (yes 90 days, I think). But whatever visa requirements apply to you entering directly from the US, will apply to entering from HK..... so you will not be able to get to Guangzhou any easier than from the US direct. You are not eligible for a Shenzhen Economic Zone 5 day visa (on which you can illegally get to Gz) so it's no use considering that.

I was not aware that you need your old Chinese passport to get your first visa to enter China, but if you say so, I believe you. Can you really get a new Chinese passport as you say you have been offered: surely China does not accept dual nationality and you would have complications because of that.....but I am not sure.

Bottom line: I don't see how you can get to Gz in July. Sort out the visa requirements first, rearrange yoyur ticket dates allowing enough time for the visa issues to be resolved. Phone your family a few times in the meantime.

GUESTMICKEY Apault is correct. You can enter Hong Kong on a US passport but no way can you enter China without a Chinese visa. If there is a US consulate in HK then see them about getting a visa to China. Then go to Chinese consulate in HK and apply for a tourist visa. It should take no more than 5 days to get a visa to visit China.

Where are you now? Just go to the local Chinese embassy or consulate to get a new one. It takes some time.
