Hi all, My wife and l will be travelling to China in late October 2010. We have booked 5 days in Beijing then fly to Xian for 3 days then flying into Wuhan to catch the G1025 or G1035 train to Guangzhou Nth. There seems to be some confusion over when or IF we can purchase train tickets, no one in Australia has bookings for train travel with CRH. Our main problem is we are going to be in the UK for 9 weeks before we get to Beijing we would like to finalise the train tickets before we leave home (August). Would we be able to get the Travel Desk at our hotel in Wuhan to buy these when they become available from CRH? Has anyone had any experience in purchasing train tickets months ahead? Thanks in advance if anyone knows what we can do.

There's no way you'll be able to, even if you want to. Train tickets simply do not go on sale till 10-20 days before departure date!

OK....thanks. That probably means we will have to purchase them online via here (TravelChinaGuide) from England...I guess that is no big deal...I'll start 'trying' to buy them 3 weeks from when we want them and I guess TravelChinaGuide will tell us when they will be available. Thanks again.

I'm pretty sure they go on sale only 10-20 days in advance. I'd offer to help, but I'm sure you'd trust a website (which costs more).

You may try this website to book your tickets. Search CRH trains on [tcgurl=http://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/shanghai-schedule.htm]Shanghai Train Schedule[/tcgurl] and try to contact them to see if they can book the ticket for you.
