First, Hello, new to these forums.

Trying to get info on what i need as far as visa's are concerned.

I am traveling to Guangzhou.
staying at a hotel there on a tourist visa double entry.

planning to visit, in order from Guangzhou to Macau, back to Guangzhou.

then from Guangzhou to HK, and back to Guangzhou.

entering Guangzhou is one entry.
going to Macau from Guanzhou and back to Guangzhou is entry 2 correct?
or is Macau part of mainland as well as Guangzhou?

Then Guangzhou to HK and back to Guangzhou is one entry.

is all this correct?
i have never been to China, and can only get double entry, and want to see a lot while im there.
just trying to make sure my visa will cover what i want to do.

Thanks.

GUESTMIA Hi, SLIMSHIESTY,
Macao and Hong Kong visa system are different from that of mainland China. Since your visa is double-entry, if you have already land on Guangzhou, one entry was uesd. And you can only go to Macao, then come back with another entry. If you again leave Guangzhou to HongKong, you can not go back to Guangzhou with that visa, you have to apply a new one to enter mainland China.

GUEST58178 The Chinese consulate in Los Angeles issues a 1 year, multiple entry visa (up to 60 days each visit). The cost is $140 for a US citizen. Check with your closest consulate.

You cannot apply at the Chinese embassy in NZ with your Danish passport unless you have a residency visa in it. So you'd need to get the Chinese visa at the embassy in Copenhagen while you are there. You'd realistically need at least 2 weeks in Denmark to manage that and be on the safe side time wise. Plus you may run into problems because you'd likely have to lie on the application form about your place of residency, which isn't really that great of an idea.
So to sum this up : You could try it, but given the fact that you don't want to risk being denied its better to spend the $70 extra and just get the visa in NZ.

Neither NZ nor Danish citizens need a visa for Hong Kong, so you can use either one when entering that territory.

BTW : If you are staying in Shanghai for less than 48 hours you can get a visa on arrival at Pudong airport with your NZ passport. So if you cut your stay there by 1 day you can avoid all of these visa hassles altogether.
