A person holds 2 passports (dual citizen) - which one should he use to enter China?

guest58178 A dual citizen person holds 2 passports: US passport and another country. Departing from the USA to China, which passport must he use to enter China?

You are entitled to use either though if you are applying in the US you should probably use that. The US visa prices are generally higher for all than 1 other country, though the 12 month multiple entry might be cheaper. If your second nationality is one not favoured by China you might find it harder getting the visa.... you might even be refused a visa if you cannot show residency in the US on that visa.

I have 2 passports but normally use the one where I live, itb is now my country. The other is a bonus for limited special situations.

GUEST13023 APULT - Thanks for your reply. The picture is clearer now, but that leads me to a second question: once you apply with let's say, country A, and you receive a tourist visa with country A's passport, will you always have to apply with the same passport for future tourist visas?

No, but you must leave opn the same one as you entered. It is possible that if immigration authorities are aware you have two passports they might ask to se both and grant a visa or permit entry based on the info in both. I have not travelled with 2 passports concurrently, but when I do (planned) I will ensure the second one is not on display....why muddy the waters?
