It is interesting. Shijiazhuang municipality started a very creative activity to stop people jumping the stoplight. If you don’t jump the stoplight, you will be rewarded 500 yuan. Easy, right? 184 people got the prize after the activity ended. The local transportation administrative department claims that the traffic order has changed a lot due to this activity. Some people are a bit disappointed because they didn’t get the prize. Do you think it is a good way to stop people jumping the stoplight?

Definitely not. Some people didn't get the prize and they were disappointed. They want to earn 500 yuan and that's why they don't jump the stoplight. The good traffic order won't last very long. My suggestion: 1. If drivers jump the stoplight, their driver licenses will be revoked. 2. If pedestrians jump the stoplight, they will be fined 500 yuan every time. If they were hit by a car, the driver was irresponsible for this accident. Then there will be no driver or pedestrians who jump the stoplights.

Sounds very stupid. I am with Jimmyb. Severe punishments are the best way to educate them and let them remember they were wrong. We needn't try to protect the one who doesn't care about his own life. He knows that it is dangerous to jump the stoplights but they still jump the stoplights.
