The city of choice is Shanghai, at least for the start...:) I'm very busy and since now had little time to plan, and I know that 2 months is a short period... There are a lot of things that interest me - 1. How much do apt. usually cost on monthly basis in Shanghai? 2. How hard is it to find an apt. for a couple of months time? (I'm actually not sure how long will I be staying, but it will be sometime from 3 to 6 months most likely... I don't need enything fancy, just internet, 2 rooms...) 3. Which part of Shanghai would be the best to live in? (Once again, I don't need anything fancy, just good atmosphere and perhaps a more peaceful area...) 4. Is it possible to sub rent the apt.? The old apt: RMB 1,300-1,600/month; new apt around the schools and subway stations: RMB 3,500-4,000/month. But it’s Expo2010 now, and the price is a little higher.

It’s not so difficult. You may rent one through the internet. Or you can ask for help from a housing agency, but be careful of these small housing agencies.

For a place of good atmosphere and peacefulness, I recommend those residential quarters.

4. Is it possible to sub rent the apt.?
Yes. Mostly, single ones.
