![]() | To offer seats to others on the bus is common things the young usually do and should do. It is what we learn since we're beginning to learn speaking. And young people today are reluctant to give their seat to the olders. Why? Because there are many who are presuming on his advanced age. Yesterday on August 3rd, there is an anecdote on a bus in Shijiazhuang. There was a brawl between a man in his 70s and a girl. Two passengers stand up when they see him on the bus, but he refuses to sit down then walk to the one near back door. He asks for a girl’s seat but the girl is with the headsets in her ears. Without any respond, the old man pushes the girl and nags with words like “ill-bred”. The girl, of course is unwilling to give up her seat. Then, guess what, the old man sits on her legs. The girl stands up of indescribable anger and alarm, a bitter quarrel follows. I do not want to argue for who is right and who is wrong, but who are supposed to apologize in your eyes? Who injures public morality worst? |

![]() | Next time, he can bring his own little chair so that he can sit wherever he likes. I don't know if you have noticed this, almost reserved chairs for the old, pregnant, sick etc are arranged near the front door. Why? People get on the bus from the front door and get off from the back door. It is easy for those guys to take a seat after they get on the bus. Maybe, the rule needs to be changed to meet that old man's requirements. Special seats should be placed near the back door too. Then he will be happy. |

![]() | It is a traditional Chinese virtue for the young on buses to yield their seats to the old, the weak, the sick and the disabled, but not obligation. The old man doesn't know it. |

![]() | I think the old man is a little bit crazy! Why not just sit down when the first two passengers offered the seats? Does he think that only girls or youngsters should do that? It is nonsense!!! But, the young girl did the wrong thing too. She should offer the seat if she didn't feel uncomfortable, for example headache. |
