An American newspaper has listed NBA's 15 Biggest No. 1 Draft Pick Busts in Last 50 Years. Yao Ming, a Chinese basketball player, is also on the list.

Eight years ago, Yao Ming was drafted as the number one overall pick for Houston Rockets. The Houston Rockets expected that they could win the championships one day. Up to now, they have no championships.

The data also shows Yao Ming misses 175 games due to his injuries including 09-10 entire season. No wonder he is included on the list.

GUEST1428 Even Houston didn't win any champions, I guess they won't regret picking up Yao Ming. Why? The real purpose is Yao Ming can bring much profits to Houston. Many Chinese fans focus on Houston because they want to see Yao Ming. Houston can make a lot of money from TV broadcasts.

For Yao Ming himself, he also benefits a lot. Even he missed 175 games, he has made a lot of money.

GUEST56228 Unless I am blind, I do not see Yao on the list of 15, do you?

If I am not mistaken, the author actually wrote that he himself did not believe Yao was a bust given his stats and dominance. That's why he did not include Yao on the list.
