Chengdu - Haikou 12 days overland around Oct 1 - where to go ?
Aug 15, 2010 04:20
guest21151 Hello,

I will be landing in Chengdu Sept 25 and leave on Oct 6th from Haikou. I have already visited Chengdu, Jiuzaigou and Eremei before and I dont wish to stay too long in Haikou.

I may want to go to Congqing and Yangtze/3 Gorges but where shall I go after that before arriving Haikou ? Is Guilin, Wuyuan or Zhangjiajie advisable ?

It that a good time to visit those places above in terms of weather and the holidays ?

Any special event or not-to-miss place during the holidays ?

Any suggestion or advice will be much appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Yes, you could take a direct train from Yichang to Zhangjiajie for about 5 hours after the Yangtze trip.

The express train between Chengdu and Chongqing runs 10 times per day. It is take only 2 hours. Please pm me for detailed info.

Cheers!

Visit Guilin and Yangshuo! The rivers are amazing, and the scenery is beautiful. I really liked the beaches of HaiKou and Sanya, but they are extremely hot this time of year - I reccomend renting a motorcycle in Sanya, it was by far my favorite experience in China.
