 | A picture taken by a Chinese journalist has caused dispute in China. This picture has won the prize of Best News Photo of the year in 2009. It is called “Bargain over A Dead Body”. On October 24, 2009, 15 students from the Yangtze University had a picnic along the riverside of the Yangtze River. Suddenly, two young kids fell into the river. Then 15 students tried to save the two kids together. Unfortunately, three of them lost their lives. A fishing company was asked to seek the bodies of the three students. However, the boss of that company charged a high price. In all, he charged 36,000 yuan. The picture depicts that the fisherman bargained over the second student’s body. He said: “I listen to my boss’s order. When he gets the money, I will pull him out of the water….." However, the Publicity Department of the Yangtze University wrote an article, saying that the picture didn’t tell the real truth. The author didn’t shoot the whole picture. The truth is: There are two boats. Since the boats are too small, they need to cooperate. When they got the body, they had to tie it up with rope, avoiding it falling into the water again. The man in white just waved his hand to tell the people on the riverside to help them drag the body to the shore. The author didn’t think so. He uploaded all the pictures t to the internet to prove he wasn’t wrong. These photos recorded the whole incident. Who is right? Who is wrong? It is really hard to tell. The following is the picture that won the prize.  |

| Hi Uncle Jimmy,, after seeing these photos,, I feel that I dont have a sick mind anymore. Now I have competition, with sick boat people, trying to make money on fresh death! |

| Here is the conclusion: This activity was held by People's Daily. Now People's Daily has announced that this picture was true. The author of this picture has left the newspaper where he worked for because he is afraid that somebody will take revenge on him. The old man in white was condemned by the public. He got beaten when selling fish. Now he even can't go out because he is afraid of being beaten again. However, he still insists that he did nothing wrong. I am totally confused. I can not figure out what is real. |
