Hello, I am going to the Wudang Mountains for a short period. I got plane tickets to Wuhan. I was wondering if anyone knew what is the best way to get to Wudangshan and eventually how much(circa) it would cost. If it is by bus where would be the best place to stay overnight in Wuhan. Any good idea on hotels with reasonable prices? I was thinking something around 200 yuan. The less the better as long as it is downtown or not so far from where I am suposed to get the bus/train to Wudangshan. One more thing I was wondering. I have to buy a backpack of about 80 liters. Where could I get that in Wuhan? Department stores maybe? Which and where? Thanks very much for the replies. I will really apreciate it. Best regards from Norway Renato

1. Train from Wuhan Railway Station to Wudangshan Railway Station: T250/T251, 18:40-01:35 Train from Wuhan South Railway Station (Wuchang Railway Station) to Wudangshan: K1024/K1021, 15:25-21:31; K351/K354, 08:46-15:46; K356/K357, 23:40-05:17; K8130/K8127, 23:03-06:40; Train from Wuhan West Railway (Hankou Railway Station) Station to Wudangshan: K722/K723, 17:55-0032; K961, 10:35-17:01, K8121, 11:10-17:27. Ticket price: hard seat from rmb39-70, soft seat about rmb100, hard sleeper about rmb80-130, soft sleeper about rmb125-195. Or you may take a bus from Fujiapo Long-distance Bus Station (武汉傅家坡长途汽车站) to Shiyan (Price is about rmb150 and it takes about 6 hours) and then change to another bus (rmb15) to Wudangshan. 2. Home Inn hotels are nice. They are chain hotels and you can find them around all the above stations. 3. There are backpack shops near the stations but the quality is very very poor. Never buy bags there. Maybe you can locate a big nearby store after deciding where you are going to stay.

Look out for camping supply stores. There are lots of these around and you can find some great gear these days. May have to ask staff where you are staying for help locating them but they are often in clusters around sport stadiums or departments stores and major shopping districts. Agree. Home INN are a nice value for money option for accommodations.

There is a big department store in Wuhan where we bought my daughter a bag. Unfortunately I cant remember the name so I am not much use, but it covered a few floors. I am sure there are many other places too.
