Want to learn Mandarin Language in Shenzhen

How does one get approval and acquire a visa. I would also be interested in teaching English although I am not a ceritfied instructor. Can anyone advis and/or give direction. By the way I am a 53 year old American with plenty of time on his hands. Looking for a 12-24 month stay. Thank you.

For 1 or 2 years stay in China, I think, you'd better find you a qualified language school in China first, let your employer send you a Work Permit for Aliens issued by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security or the original Foreign Expert's License issued by the Chinese Foreign Expert Bureau. And a Visa Notification Form from an authorized Chinese Unit. With these two documents from China, and basic requirements like passport, application form and passport photo, you can submit your visa application to Chinese embassy or consulate where you reside.

Generally, language school in the most cities of China requires a BA degree and 3 years teaching experience.

Hi, dear friend, you do not need to attend a school for Chinese language, a private tutor/instructor is enough, or just attend online classes, chat with Chinese friends online, etc.But you need to be patient cz Chinese for you may be very difficult.

On this site I met many who are willing to exchange their Chinese for English with foreigners, like me

. and you can see interesting topic in this forum about Chinese people and culture. So, better do a research beforehand.
