 | Hi there, I am a US citizen traveling around the world, already have a China trip planned for October, and am having major issues getting my visa. I left the US several months ago, and could not get my Chinese visa because it was too soon. I am currently in Ireland, and just tried through the consulate here. But they would not accept my visa application, and said I had to get this in my home country!! I have not heard this before, as I know that other US travelers have been able to get their visas abroad. Is this just an Irish consulate thing? So, can anyone please help to where I might be able to get my visa before my trips, which start October 11? I am off to Croatia, but will be in the UK about a week before my planned China trip. |

Not that fake stuff......... Okay I will be nice.... Wait, I need to check my mail box.... Hey, your check bounced!........ Don't get mad.... Don't think about getting even! Your destination Hong Kong.... China Consulate will issue you a "visitor visa" (since you failed to get the normal visa in the States good for a minimum of 30 days). Also at the border-crossing at Lo Wu, HKG side there is China visa office but not always open)...... China Consulate Hong Kong. Thanks, I had fun! |

| GUESTJEAN | Some countries do not accept visa applications from temporary travelers. they require the original and a copy of their permanent residence or work permit with validity for at least half a year. You can try to get your China visa processed in Croatia or UK. Generally, the visa processing time is 4 working days, so make sure you have all needed requirements in hand. If there are same requirements in both Croatia and UK, you can try this way, send all documents back to US, let your family to help you with it. Many visiters get their China visa in this way. Don't mention that you are not in US and perhaps you need to use their rush service or express service if they have any. Good luck. |

| hello guys, When getting China business visa, you should apply for an F visa. This type of visa is for people who have been invited to China for business or academic reasons, generally under the supervision of a company or university. These visas are good for six months for a single or a double entry, or twelve months for a multiple entry. If you have been hired by a Chinese company, you will apply for China work visas (Z visa) instead of China business visas. If you are working for an American company but you are going to China to conduct business, you will need an F visa. |

| I hope readers will ignore Guestlol: Of course the Chinese consulate in Eire (Ireland) issues visas.....and it's unknown for the HK consulate to write in forums. I am surprised that Ireland is not issuing visas to non residents of Eire. I think Britain will be OK, did you succeed there?. If not you can courier your application to a friend or agent in your home country, I did this on one occasion. Of course you are technically in an illegal situation while you await the pasport's return. Otherwise head for HK...yeah not always convenient, but to date I have not heard of reasonable applications being refused there. |
