I am planning a trip for my mum and mum in law ( both 78 years old - mobile but slow and would prefer short walks otherwise may need wheelchair. We would like to spend 2 nights in Hangzhou ( Shangrila ) and then perhaps 2 nites in Kashing at Club 1929. I will be flying inot Pudong from Singapore but would probably not visit Shanghai. Which is the best way to transfer from Pudong to Hangzhou?

If your flight arrives not very late, you can take the long distance bus from Pudong airport to Hangzhou directly. It costs 100 RMB for each person.

Bus Schedule: 8:40 9:30 10:30 12:00 13:00 14:00 15:30 16:30 17:30 18:30 19:00 20:00

If you arrive very late at the Pudong airport, better stay at a hotel near the airport. Then take the long distance bus next morning to Hanghzou.

Thanks for your information. How much would a car cost from Pudong to Hangzhou? If would be a lot more comfortable for elderly people.

Dear Jagxj6,

If you hire a taxi or small car, you need to pay at least 1000-1200 rmb. Just for reference.

If I needed wheelchairs for both my mother and mother in law how could we go organizing this trip to Hangzhou and Jiaxing As they are elderly, long distance walking is may be a problem. I have been to both these places and they seem wheelchair friendly enough. Are there special tours for wheelchair bound people? They can walk but for short distances only.

Hello JAGXJ6..!!!

I will suggest you to hire a taxi from Pudong to Hangzou,if money is not a problem for you....As aged persons require more attention and care while traveling..But if money is the issue then you have only one option and that is you have to reach there by bus or train....Now the choice is yours...

With Regards,
Tom Ruderr.

GUEST74663 Thanks. I have arranged for transport from Pudong to Jiaxing where I will be staying for 2 nites before going on to Hangzhou. I gather the super fast train is ready to roll.
