I went there last night and to give a very brief report(I may put up a longer one when I am back when I have more time), I will just list out all; the flaws since no one ever mentioned it anywhere:
1) There are very few signs(none for European side) within the area to show the ways to each Pavilion and even when you reached a Pavilion, you won't know which is it unless you happen to see it's name(as part of the Pavilion). Visitors wasted a lot of time finding their ways and asking the staffs for this problem.
2) Maps are NOT handed out to all visitors; unless they happen to be near you or you go search for them. They should give the map together with the ticket.
3) Queues are poorly arranged and times are wasted:
a) Most Pavilions make you walk along the entrance path for around 500 meters even when there is very few people which is unnecessary. Only I Pavilion is intelligent enough to let you in by a short-cut.
b) Entrance path is too narrow. The Chinese don't keep left to allow those who can walk faster.
c) Many entrance are in batch-by-batch but there don't inform you. You may think the queue is short but ended up having to wait up to 30 mins for the program to be over before they let next batch in.
d) If you are in a queue and decided to give up and leave, you are in trouble, there is no short-cut out staffs are short for long queues to handle such situation.
4) The free bus service inside is poorly arranged. Instead of doing a circular to take you all round like any other places worldwide, they only travel along one side of it, so you still need a lot of walking back to find a bus stop.
5) Signs are mostly in Chinese although this is an international event. They made it like foreigners are not encouraged to visit. In fact, no English signs at the bus stops. So Chinese take the free bus service, foreigners walk !!
6) Programs timings are not well informed. There are no handouts of programs and events notice. It's not true you can get the informations at all entrances. Even the staffs don't know the programs time.
7) The area is unnecessary big. Many areas can be reduced and easily held in just one side of the river. Crossing the ferry is a waste of time. The Chinese just want everything to be BIG, just for the record, maybe.
Yes, most of the staffs are nice and ready to attend to your problems or enquiries but why not avoid it ?
Overall, most Pavilions are well designed externally with a few exceptions. Externally, Japan and Malaysia are the biggest disappointments(external design)
It's the overall arrangement that spoiled the event.
The most beautiful part of the park will be maintained after the Expo(those Chinese buildings and Pavilion included), so I don't encourage foreigners or tourists
to go all the way just for those countries' Pavilions.

Let me add one more, make it 8.
Most locals said the Chinese Pavilion is the best but hardly any tourists managed to get in.
Since that is a permanent Pavilion, they should give priority to tourists or non-Shanghai residents. This will allow many more aliens(as China named us) to appreciate the Chinese culture.
