Old, rare Chinese game? (anyone know what this is?)

Does anyone know what this game is ?

My grandfather gave it to me.

It looks like some very old Chinese or Japanese game ?

It consists of some small wooded boxes, dice, chips, and little tubes to maybe hold some of the chips ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Once I know what the game is called, I should be able to find more information on-line about it.

Did not meet it before. It is different from Chinese chess or mahjong. What are those two wooden boxes used for?
