guest23101 We will be staying in Guangzhou. Is Shamian Island a day trip from there and if so, what is the easiest way for English speakers to get there? What are the modes of transportation that I would want to take,
train, underground, ferry, etc?

GUEST5984 Train and ferry are not necessary. Public bus or taxi is ok.

Shamian Island is one of the most beautiful places in Guangzhou, there are many ancient buildings there, and nice bar as well, it is more nice to go there in the evening.

Shamian is beautiful in daytime too, beautiful buildings and great historic sites, big trees along the paths ...
