Chinese Visas for those born in China
Oct 20, 2010 15:25
guest44540 I was born in China, but I'm now an US citizen. I heard that my previous Chinese passport is required in addition to my US passport. However, I currently only have my US passport, not my Chinese passport. Is there any way I can still get a visa to go to China? Thank you for the help.

As I understand it the Chinese government do not recognise dual citizenship. Therefore if you are now a US citizen you relinquished your Chinese citizenship and your passport is no longer valid. In China you are now a foreigner and you would need to apply for a tourist visa (or whatever visa you seek) in the same way any foreigner does to visit China.
