Easiest way to guangzhou airport from HongKong

I want to know how to get to Guangzhou airport from HongKong.
I am staying at Sha Tin area close to metro station now.

I was planning to go directly from HongKong to Guangzhou east station by train, but someone told me that it will take 1 hour by taxi from Guangzhou east station to airport.

Can you please help me to find the easiest way to get there. thank you very much.

The easiest way is going to Guangzhou East Railway station by train first, then you can take a taxi to arrive at the airport. Also, the subway line 3 of Guangzhou has opened since this October 1st, so you can also take the subway line 3 from Guangzhou East Railway Station to the airport.
