VISA Application in Hong Kong

My wife and I are travelling From South Africa to Trade Fair in Goundzong, China, via Hong Kong, I did not get a Chinese VISA and the Chinese Embassy in South Africa informed me that I can get a VISA at the Hong Kong Boarder Post.

Will be arring in Hong Kng on Sunday. How do I go about obtaining a VISA and was is required, and can you confirm that I don't need a VISA from South Africa to Hong Kong?
