Hi, I am a British citizen residing in Japan and am visiting Xian for sight-seeing /tourist in November for 4 nights. A Chinese friend has made a reservation at a hotel in Xian in my name and sent me the email confirmation of my reservation. It is not very official looking and wanted to know is this considered a 'Hotel Reservation Certificate'?
Thanks for any help you can give me,
Darren

It is ok. I once used some online hotel booking websites to reserve hotels. As long as you reserve it successfully, they will send you an email to confirm your reservation. Just remember that you have to show your valid documents, for example, your passport.

If you feel unsure, you can ask your friend for details.

LOL, it might not look "official" to you, but it sounds legit. :)
