I am a HK ID card holder, but do not have a passport for China. I am planning to visit a friend in Russia, do I still need to apply for a private sponsor visa? or can I use my HK ID card as a proof of citizenship in HK to enter?

I currently hold a New Zealand passport.

I hope someone can please help, because I am due to fly out in 9 days and no one is responding at the Russian Embassy in New Zealand.

Thanks in Advance!!
