How to contact USPS from China before parcel goes back to US?("unsuccesful delivery")

According to http://www.usps.com/shipping/trackandconfirm.htm It has arrived in China the 4th of november (And a friend told me it is kept only 15 days and we are the 17th!!). I had no news so I was checking the website everyday. The 16th of november I I read "attempted delivery" (And the email from USPS that was supposed to tell me any change arrived only hours latter I checked!). So, at once, I went to Kaili Post office hoping to get my parcel there. They told me they werent concerned by parcels that were in another place. Luckily a chinese friend could phone there... and in different places. I know now, none of them knows. Except in one place they could tell the 15th it was in Guiyang but have no idea where it is now. But as USPS didnt provide this information I had already found China Post website http://track-chinapost.com/ who said this same 15th it was also in "Beijing International Airport" with status "unsuccessful delivery" (Beijing International Airport Chine Post office couldnt help they say to ask USPS) . So what means unsuccesful delivery? It seems it means (As explained another Chinese friend) the mobile phone number I provided is missing the last digit . The 11th digit, a "5", is missing (At the moment I filled the number the software truncated the last digit and the closing parenthesis). So phone number is wrong, nobody never came at the physical address which is right.(A chinese friend wondered why USPS accepted such a phone number format as it obviously doesn't exist in China) I wonder what is the use of tracking the parcel if there is no possibility at all just for me to just say "I am here" I search the web to join someone here in China before the parcel goes back to USA. Not considering the cost it's not easy to phone from a smal chines town. If I do who will understand my english with a perfect french pronunciation. Any suggestion to update the phone number? GUESTCHRIS	Unsuccessful delivery? Usually it can a a invalid address or you were not there when the courier attempted to deliver the item according to my experience.

It is not Geographical address is right and there is someone a office time. It's just they don't come before phoning And the phone number last digit has been truncated off.

GUEST09241	When I sent my parcel, they gave me a phone number (begins with 400), which is their Chinese service number. Maybe you guys can try that? Give them a call and see what you can do. Normally with your passport you can declare the package...

GUEST26185	took 10 days only. sent as "gift" usps from NY to beijing. Tracked it within China also, that info not available from the usps tracking.

File a claim with the USPS. They should hanle it for you.
