Stopover visa for day tour

hello,

i am working here in Dubai. and i'll be having my yearly vacation in the Philippines. And i will book my flight on China Airlines. I am planning to have a stopover day-tour in China on my flight back (Philippines to China to Dubai) to Dubai.
Do i need to acquire for a tourist visa? thanks.

you are a Philippine passport holder, right? then you are exempt from going through the procedures for obtaining a transit visa if you will stay in a transit city for less than 24 hours without leaving the airport. But if you want to make a day-tour in China, you are required to apply for a [tcgurl=http://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa/tourist.htm]China tourist visa[/tcgurl]in advance through Chinese embassy.
