I am visiting Guangdong to find a factory to make my clothes designs from 24 jan to 3 feb but have now been told the markets and factories are closed during this time due to New year. Is this correct? Should I change the dates to earlier in January?

I suggest you go to find your factory as early as you can in [tcgurl=http://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/guangdong/]Guangdong Province[/tcgurl]. Due to the Spring Festival, many factories will be closed and the workers will go back home to enjoy the New Year Holidays.

All the chinese people will enjoy china's biggest traditional festival -spring festival starting from February 2 and it will last at least ten days . That is the most important festival for all the chinese people ,just like you celebrate christmas .So you had better reschedule your date to {Guangzhou,http://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/guangzhou.htm} either in advance or postpone until we come back to work again .Cheers .
