Is it a good idea to visit Mt. Huashan in winter?

guest3269 Hey, I want to visit Mt. Huashan in Xian during Chinese New Year’s Holidays (Jan. 1 to 3) with three Chinese friends (they have never been to Mt. Huashan before). Will it be extreme cold on Mt. Huashan in winter? What clothes should we bring? How much time do you suggest finishing this tour?

Guest3269, actually [tcgurl=http://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/shaanxi/xian/mt_huashan.htm]Mt. Huashan[/tcgurl] is located in {Weinan,http://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/shaanxi/weinan/} City near Xian, the capital of [tcgurl=http://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/shaanxi/]Shaanxi Province[/tcgurl]. I suggest you bring thick clothes like down coat. Generally, you need at least 1.5 days to finish your short trip: getting there in the afteroon and then start climbing in the evening. Next day, you can visit climb other peaks.
