guest19663 My husband and I will be visiting China for the first time in Jan 2011. We plan to explore {Beijing,https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/beijing.htm} for 5 days but are unsure of what order to visit the following cities: {Xian,https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/xian.htm}, {Chengdu,https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/chengdu.htm}, {Guilin,https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/guilin.htm}/{Yangshuo,https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/guangxi/yangshuo/}, {Hong Kong,https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/hongkong/}, {Shanghai,https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/shanghai.htm}, and {Sanya,https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/Hainan/sanya/}. Can you experienced travelers offer any advice? Also, what is the most efficient and economical way to travel from one city to the next (flight vs train)? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Wow, so many places. I haven't visited so many places in a time, but two or three at most.
My presonal thinking: Beijing-Xian-Chengdu-Shanghai-Guilin/Yangshuo-Sanya-Hongkong
Click [tcgurl=http://www.travelchinaguide.com/tour/default.htm]China Tours[/tcgurl] to see if you can get more inspirations.

Usually by train is much cheaper than flight, but if you can book discounted flight ticket, it might be cheaper than a soft sleeper train ticket. You can serch the flight and train ticket at [tcgurl=http://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/]China Trains[/tcgurl] & [tcgurl=http://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-flights/]China Flights[/tcgurl]
Anyway, good luck with your trip in China:)

The question is at which city you would arrive and leave China? That would matter...
