Please tell me 1. where is the bus station in Shanghai that will take me to Suzhou. a. what is the earliest bus departure time b. how frequent are the buses 2. where does the bus stop in Suzhou. 3. how much is the fare for a single trip to & back from Suzhou. I'm non-Chinese female traveling alone and don't want to look lost for fear of touts along the way. leesng

If you want to use bus, please go to Shanghai South Long-distance Bus Station by [tcgurl=http://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/shanghai/transportation/subway-line1.htm]subway line 1, Shanghai[/tcgurl]. It is close to Shanghai South Railway Station.

The earliest bus leaves at 06:27. It takes about 1.5 hours and costs CNY38. The bus will arrive at Suzhou South/North Bus Station.

You can use this link to learn all the buses from Shanghai South Long-distance Bus Sation to Suzhou: http://www.ctnz.net/English/skb/index.html

Or you can take [tcgurl=http://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/shanghai/transportation/subway-line2.htm]subway line 2, Shanghai[/tcgurl] to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station. There you can use G trains from Shanghai to Suzhou. It just takes about 30 minutes and the ticket prices are CNY 65 (first class soft seat) and CNY 41 (second class soft seat). I suppose you mean G or D trains. Now all G trains leave from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station.

Two ways:
Bus: take airport shuttle bus line 7 to Shanghai South Railway Station. Then walk to Shanghai South Long Distance Bus Station to take long distance bus to Ningbo. It takes about 2.5 hours.

Train: take subway line 2 to Hongqiao Railway Station and then use high speed train to Ningbo. The last one leaves at 20:06.
