 | Hi, I would like to know more about the Xian city in terms of living expenses. It would be great if any one can tell me about the housing, food, shopping and transportation. Regards, dcreddy |

| The living cost standard in Xi'an is among the lowest of all the capital cities in China. Catering: Usually we only need 10 to 20 yuan for the whole day's meals if your company do not offer you lunch(including breakfast, lunch and dinner) ,with hygeian and delicious foods. And if you cook at home, the monthly catering cost will be less. Other daily commodities are at the same price or maybe a little lower than that in other cities like Beijing or Shanghai. Housing here is also budget. See some examples: Rental of a two bedroom apartment inside the downtown area will cost you 500-1000 yuan according to the location and facilities in the room. Buying a new house, the price ranges from 3000-4000 per square meter(just for common residential apartment excluding business stores or villa. For transportation, the price of common bus is 1 yuan one way, 2 yuan for air-con bus, 0.5 to 3.5 for mini-bus. The flag charge of taxi is 6 yuan for the first three km, and 1.3 yuan each succedent km. |

| Hi, In general, what will be the range of expenses for a month ...if any body wants to lead a normal life over there...?? Can any body tell me how much amount will be deducted through taxes..??? Regards, dcreddy |

| Usually the expense of wage earners in XI'an rages from 1000yuan to 2000yuan per month.  |
