Many cities in China have temple fairs and lantern fairs opened during the Spring Festival. Where you go, you will feel the joy and fun of the New Year. Beijing has over ten grand temple fairs held this year, most of which are just closed yesterday. The temples fairs had received a tourist volume of nearly 4 million, showing both the locals and the tourists the traditional handicraft, delicious food, featured entertainment and folk performances of Beijing. The three most popular temple fairs are those at the Altar of Earth, Longtanhu Park and Changdian.

2011 Xian temple fair has started since Jan. 26 on the ancient City Wall. It is located between Small South Gate and Heping Gate of the City Wall. Not only will visitors be able to experience folk art performances from Shaanxi, they will also have the chance to appreciate the world famous lantern displays that cover Xian’s city walls. The festivity will last to Feb. 27.
