It really depends, the hotel levels, the food you are going to eat and will you buy many things? I think the estimation made by yourself is more accurate after deciding the hotel and places to visit. I will visit hong Kong too in the coming april and I think HKD4,000 is far enough for me. Because I'll live in my friend's and sometimes eat there. Besides, I will not buy too many things, just a leisurely vacation. Hope it helpful.
