It seems that the situation has already gone a little out of control. In the past a few days, people here bought salt in a crazy way, for the salt produced later 'might' be polluted and the iodine in it could prevent radiation.

But the thing is the stored salt by China government could support the Chinese people for the following 1,000 years. Also, the salt in China is mainly mineral salt, not sea salt. Someone is joking that the restored salt by China government could make all Chinese people into cured meat, then why would they worry so much?

BOBERT Points: Join Date: Jan 1, 2009 Status: Offline	Salt does not prevent radiation exposure or cure radiation sickness. Nor does iodized salt. Potassium iodide tablets can prevent radiation sickness but only one type, cancer of the thyroid gland. However the tablets must be taken BEFORE exposure. Salt and iodized salt are absolutely useless against radiation. You are wasting your time and your money squabbling over salt.

I read that the number of men of sacrifice in Fukushima has increased into 180. They are so brave and selfless. Hope the Japanese people will come over it soon~
