Are the trains in China easy to use?

If it is not the high season like the Spring Move and holidays, it is easy to use. Otherwise, it is rather difficult to get a ticket and it may be crowded in the carriage and the railway station. Also, if you could get one soft sleeper ticket, it will be more comfortable.
