This year, the festival will be held a bit earlier. The 28th International Kite Festival will be held from April 16, 2011. During the festival, kite-flying competitions, performances and activities will be held, including the 7th World Kite Championships, the 1st Luminous Kite Invitation Tournament, the 1st Chinese Painting Festival, the 4th Weifang Kite Trade Show and 2011 Weifang Food Carnival.
