| Hello all and thank you for the wonderful suggestions given in this forum. We would like to travel to China in September visiting Beijing, Xi'an, Chongqing (for the 3 gorges trip), Wuhan (end of 3 gorges trip) and finally Shanghai. Eventhough we don't speak Mandarin, we feel adventurous enough (at the moment), to try and do Beijing and Shanghai without a tour guide. However we want to join a group tour from Xi'an and continue with them for Chongqing, the 3 gorges cruise, Wuhan and up until we reach Shanghai again. Is this a viable option? Are there any tour companies out there that will give us this option? Will it be easy for us to tour Xi'an on our own, and only join a group tour for the 3 gorges? Any tips and advice will be greatly appreciated. |
