Travel from Yichang to Mount Huangshan

RDEMPS Points: Join Date: Apr 25, 2011 Status: offline	Hi. I am wondering if it is at all possible to travel by bus or by train from Yichang to Mount Huangshan? Or would I need to go from Wuhan? I don't necessarily want to go to Huangshan city due to time constraints. I would like to climb the Yellow Mountain and spend a night at the top. Also, what is the easiest way to get to Hong Cun for a day? Should I do that before or after Mount Huangshan? I wish to then take the bus to Shanghai as I understand it is much quicker than the train. Many Thanks in advance!

There are no direct trains from Yichang to Huangshan. You can take train from Yichang to Shanghai South Railway Station and then go to Shanghai South Long Distance Bus Station to take bus to Huangshan. The Bus stops at Tunxi Bus Station and Huangshan Tourist Center.

Bus fare: CNY 138/148 Time: around 6.5 hours.

After visiting Huangshan, you can take bus from Huangshan Scenic Area (Tangkou) to Hongcun directly. When you finished visiting Hongcun, you can take bus to Yixian(黟县) and then take long distance bus to Shanghai.

Yixian to Shanghai:
Schedule: 7:00, 14:20
Time: around 6.5 hours
Fare: CNY142
