Nice beaches in North China.

guest76218 I am visiting Shenyang in May/June and would like to spend a few days at a Beach. Is the some hidden gems of relativley unknown places. Have tried to find out about some places and have some info on Beidaihe. Would like somewhere that is not too crowded, has nice reasonably priced seafood resturants and a relaxed atmosphere with good swimming. Also would like a reasonably priced hotel. 300-400Y. Would even like a two bedroom apartment if possible for 500-600Y max as will be with a few family members.
Please give some recomendations.
Is the water warm enough to swim in June.

I think Beidaihe is a good choice. It become warm earlier this year and I think you could swim in it in June. (There was no problem to swim in it in middle June, 2008 when I was there.) Also, it is not the summer holiday yet in June and there will be fewer tourists than in July and august. You could live in a rather good hotel at rmb300-400 per day, not clear about the apartment price but I think it's OK at 500-600. Actually, I think rmb500-600 is enough to rent an apartment for a week, if you could find one.
